Our aims include working positively towards the future of a sustainable,well maintained, life-full Park, beginning in the present, here and now; but alas, first we must defend the boundaries. We are pleased to say, that we are beginning to gather together a valuable collectionof photos, recounts and memorabilia of inestimable Community value. Watch this space - to be published!
 

CONSTITUTION AND RULES OF THE FRIENDS OF ARROWE COUNTRY PARK 2007
 
 

1. The name of the group shall be FRIENDS OF ARROWE COUNTRY PARK
(The Group)
2. The objects of the Friends of Arrowe Country Park are:
a) To work in partnership with Wirral Borough Council in protecting and conserving the existing boundaries of The Park, and the land contained within them, for Public use, inclusive of that also defined as Green Belt. That land, in Public use, and boundaries as shown, at this date in WBC's currently distributed Leisure Services and Tourism map of Arrowe Country Park..
b) To prevent further habitat destruction and Country Park identity loss.
c) To actively contribute to maintaining and protecting sites of historical and traditional wildlife occupation; flora and fauna.
d) To promote and encourage maximum recreational use of The Park, across all interest groups and age ranges, in the spirit of pro-active health policies.
e) To organise events in The Park.
f) To work in Partnership with officers of Wirral Borough Council to bring up to standard, and improve and protect public facilities and amenities, including but not exclusively: toilets, recreational provision, footpaths, benches and Park Boundaries.
g) To recover, collate, and share in education and enjoyable presentation, aspects of Arrowe Country Park History.
h) To accept donations, grants and subscriptions to further the aims of The Group
i) To do all such things as are conducive to the attainment of the foregoing Objects.

3. MEMBERSHIP Membership of The Group is open to anyone in sympathy with the aims as herein defined.

4. COMMITTEE Administration of the work of The Group shall be vested in a Committee, (The Committee). Only those members of The Group who have paid annual subscriptions shall be eligible to vote at the A.G.M or any other meetings of The Group. The first A.G.M of The Group will be held in June 2007.

5. SUBSCRIPTIONS The annual subscription shall be in accordance with scales laid down from time to time, by The Committee. The Friends of Arrowe Country Park shall have power to accept donations for any purpose not inconsistent with it's aims.

6. RESIGNATION Any member may terminate his or her membership at any time by notice in writing to the Secretary.

7. TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP The Committee may, on a resolution passed by three quarters of the members thereof, discontinue the membership of any member of The Group, whose membership subscription falls into arrears, or for any other reason, at the absolute discretion of The Committee.

8. MANAGEMENT - COMMITTEE - The Committee, shall consist of The Chair, Treasurer, the Secretary, and not more than six other members provided that The Committee may co-opt additional members, pending confirmation by subsequent election at the following A.G.M.
The Friends of Arrowe Country Park shall elect The Chair, Treasurer and Secretary and six other members, to constitute The Committee at the first A.G.M. in June 2007. The elected officers shall take up office at the end of that meeting and shall hold office until the next A.G.M.
All members of The Committee may be re-elected for a further term of office or further terms of office.
The Chair for the time being shall also be The Chair of the A.G.M.
Four members of The Committee constitute a quorum.
The Committee shall meet monthly, regularly, except in July and August..
Special meetings of The Committee may be called by not less than three of The
Committee giving fourteen days written notice to the rest.
Special General Meetings may be called by The Committee giving twenty-eight
days written notice to the membership of The Group.
Ten members present in person shall constitute a quorum at the A.G.M.

9. FINANCE Accounts shall be kept by The Treasurer, submitted to independent inspection and approved at the A.G.M.

10. AMENDMENT OF CONSTITUTION The constitution may only be altered by consent of a majority of members attending an A.G.M or Extraordinary General Meeting, (EGM) and proxy or postal votes of all fully paid up members. The resolution must be passed by not less than three quarters of those present. There shall be no power to amend clauses 2 or 3 of this clause.

11. DISSOLUTION If The Group should, by vote of members at an A.G.M. or E.G.M., cease to exist, any assetts remaining after payment of outstanding expenses and liabilities shall pass to a charity nominated by a majority of The Committee.
